35 Weeks/ 1 Day with 34 Days left to go.....

Another week has passed. OMG. Our little princess will be here in around 34 days (give or take).  Camille is about 17.2 to 18.7 inches. She won't get much longer, but she's plumping up. She's somewhere between 4.2 and 5.8 pounds and will put on a pound or more of baby fat before birth. She's about the size of a coconut. Her hearing is fully developed too. Her kidneys are fully developed and her liver can process some waste products.

As for Mommy & Daddy - we're gearing up and getting ready for her! I packed our hospital bag this weekend. The car seat is all assembled. FINALLY picked out paint colors. Gosh, who knew there could be so many different shades of pink! We settled on the swatch below which is called "Powder Pink" - the trim and chair rail will be painted an Antique White. We're still waiting on confirmation from our painter, but hopeful he can be here this weekend to complete the work. I'm starting to get antsy!

 Oh and we got the chandelier for her room this weekend too! Her room is coming together very nicely - it's certainly fit for a princess!
 
I had a surprise baby shower at work on Friday. It really was a surprise and caught me completely off guard. I'm very blessed to work with great people. Camille got more wonderful things to add to her collection and we are so grateful for everyone's generosity.

 The main thing we're waiting on now is for her co-sleeper to become "in stock" at Target. It's been out of stock for a few days and not sold in any stores. Hopefully, it will be in soon. At this point, I'm picking up a few other last minute items i.e. bottle warmers, humidifiers, breast pump supplies, etc - but it's all coming together!

 Oh and on Friday - we had our final dinner club outing for 2012:-( This was also symbolic for me as it was the last outing with the girls before I become a Mommy! We had a wonderful time - we ate at Spoon which is a thai restaurant (one of my favorite foods)

 Alright, well I guess I'll get back to work. My last day is Dec. 7 and there's a lot to wrap up before my departure!

On April 12, 2012 - Alvin and I received the best news ever! I took a home pregnancy test (actually I took 2) and they all reflected positive!!!!! Alvin was not home when I took the first test. I called to find out where he was - he was at a rental property that we recently purchased overseeing a rehab project. I immediately went to the house to see him. I had NO words for him once I saw him - so I just showed him the test. We both hugged and cried (mostly me) and that day was life changing for both us. In 9 months - we will be parents! At that point - we immediately called our parents. Everyone was SUPER excited! Alvin's parents have no grandchildren - so this will be their first:-) For the rest of the evening we fantasized about our baby and how our lives will never ever be the same. I'm so looking forward to moving into this next chapter with Alvin.

Really Missing Martha......

I've missed a few weeks of writing as there has been a lot going on. I have been dealing with the untimely, unfortunate passing of my dearest friend Martha Fondel Smith. I received a call on 9/14 from her husband that she suffered a stroke. I flew down the next morning to see her. Nothing could have prepared me for what I saw. The person who has been more like a sister to me than a friend for the past 15 years, who has stood by me through thick and thin was laying in a hospital bed not able to breathe on her own and showing no signs of any brain activity. Martha's husband Tony & her family made the decision to let her go - so on Saturday evening my sweet sweet friend went on to be with the Lord. This has been absolutely devastating to me as I don't have many memories over the years that don't include her. She was my trusted a confidante and I was hers. We stood up for each other in our weddings - we got married in the same year only a few months apart. Martha ha

It's A.......

GIRL!!!!!! I am tickled pink and green :-) We had an anatomy scan on Tuesday and were able to see that all of her organs have formed. All 4 chambers of her heart, brain, kidneys, liver, etc. are all there! She's measuring right on target and the doctor said that she looked PERFECT. In fact, he doesn't think I need another ultrasound....which is bittersweet for us because we enjoy getting to see our little princess. Towards the end of the ultrasound - the technician very clearly pointed out that we're having a GIRL! I've been having dreams of little boys the entire pregnancy so I was super shocked. Then the technician said normally the sex is just the opposite of the one you're dreaming of....now someone tells me! I am super duper excited to have a little "mini me." Alvin is already calling her a princess:-) So, now that we know.....I can finally settle on a theme for the nursery!!!! We left for San Francisco on Wednesday and we're really enjoyi
