31 Weeks/ 1 Day!

Well - we had the experience of a lifetime on Saturday! We got to see Camille!!!!! We had a 3D/ 4D ultrasound and it was absolutely amazing. The pictures and videos were just soooo vivid and unreal. I'm making copies of the DVD to send to the grandparents - they are all so excited. Here's one of her pictures that just cracks me up - her elbows are pointing out as if her hands are over her ears! It will be interesting to see if she does this when she comes out the womb because a LOT of her poses looked like this.
Hubby and I have been watching the DVD over and over again! Still in disbelief. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE her - can't wait to hold her in my arms.
Camille is about the size of a pineapple - which happens to be one of my favorite fruits! She's about 15.2 to 16.7 inches and 2.5 to 3.8 lbs. All 5 of Camille's senses are fully developed. She's going through serious brain development now and eye development too. Her irises are now reacting to light. 

 Mommy & Daddy remain extremely excited to meet our princess. We just can't wait! As excited as we are - we need her to stay put for at least another 7 weeks. She's got more growing and development to do and Daddy has to finish the nursery!

    I bet she does hold her hands like this when she gets here. Adon used to hold his arm across his face and he did that for a while after he was born. Technology is such a blessing, you have a chance to observe your child's behavior before they are even born! Can't wait to meet you, Camille!!

On April 12, 2012 - Alvin and I received the best news ever! I took a home pregnancy test (actually I took 2) and they all reflected positive!!!!! Alvin was not home when I took the first test. I called to find out where he was - he was at a rental property that we recently purchased overseeing a rehab project. I immediately went to the house to see him. I had NO words for him once I saw him - so I just showed him the test. We both hugged and cried (mostly me) and that day was life changing for both us. In 9 months - we will be parents! At that point - we immediately called our parents. Everyone was SUPER excited! Alvin's parents have no grandchildren - so this will be their first:-) For the rest of the evening we fantasized about our baby and how our lives will never ever be the same. I'm so looking forward to moving into this next chapter with Alvin.

Really Missing Martha......

I've missed a few weeks of writing as there has been a lot going on. I have been dealing with the untimely, unfortunate passing of my dearest friend Martha Fondel Smith. I received a call on 9/14 from her husband that she suffered a stroke. I flew down the next morning to see her. Nothing could have prepared me for what I saw. The person who has been more like a sister to me than a friend for the past 15 years, who has stood by me through thick and thin was laying in a hospital bed not able to breathe on her own and showing no signs of any brain activity. Martha's husband Tony & her family made the decision to let her go - so on Saturday evening my sweet sweet friend went on to be with the Lord. This has been absolutely devastating to me as I don't have many memories over the years that don't include her. She was my trusted a confidante and I was hers. We stood up for each other in our weddings - we got married in the same year only a few months apart. Martha ha

It's A.......

GIRL!!!!!! I am tickled pink and green :-) We had an anatomy scan on Tuesday and were able to see that all of her organs have formed. All 4 chambers of her heart, brain, kidneys, liver, etc. are all there! She's measuring right on target and the doctor said that she looked PERFECT. In fact, he doesn't think I need another ultrasound....which is bittersweet for us because we enjoy getting to see our little princess. Towards the end of the ultrasound - the technician very clearly pointed out that we're having a GIRL! I've been having dreams of little boys the entire pregnancy so I was super shocked. Then the technician said normally the sex is just the opposite of the one you're dreaming of....now someone tells me! I am super duper excited to have a little "mini me." Alvin is already calling her a princess:-) So, now that we know.....I can finally settle on a theme for the nursery!!!! We left for San Francisco on Wednesday and we're really enjoyi
