33 Weeks/ 1 Day
Wow - it's been 2 full weeks since I posted last! Time is flying by so quickly I can barely keep my composure. Alvin and I are so excited about Camille's upcoming arrival. We've been very busy getting her room ready:-)
At this point - Camille is about the size of a durian. I'll be honest and say that I've never heard of this in my life - but I know google has the answer! The durian is a fruit primarily grown in Southeast Asia and is referred to as the "king of fruits." It's sort of like a pineapple! Camille weighs somewhere between 4.2 and 5.8 lbs and is about 17.2 to 18.7 inches long. She may grow up to a full inch this week!
Camille is now keeping her eyes open while awake. She's starting to coordinate breathing while sucking and swallowing. Her bones are hardening. Camille's brain is becoming more and more developed. She's going to be one smart baby!
Here is a video of Camille in action!
This past weekend was also really exciting for us! My friends threw me a baby shower. So - thankful for my hostesses Tosha, Sabriya, Shelby & Vanessa for the hard work. My shower was truly top notch and Alvin and I could not have been more pleased. So - thankful for all of my guests who attended! Also, thankful for my friends who traveled from out of town: Tosha (Houston)- who was one of the hostesses, Constance (Maryland) - who hosted my Louisiana shower, Brittany & Lindsey (from Houston) and Candice (from Wisconsin). Later that evening, we had some friends over for what is now being called the "Baby Shower After Party" - it was a lot of fun and great to get to share this special moment with our friends and family. Camille's room is becoming more and more full as each day passes. Alvin & I have been really overwhelmed by the generosity of our friends and family. I think I need to go shopping so that my wardrobe can keep up with Camille's! I can say it a 1000 times - Thank you to our friends and family for helping to commemorate this special occasion for us.
As for Mommy - I'm getting bigger and a bit more uncomfortable as each day passes.I'm super excited to meet Camille - but she needs to bake for a few more weeks. Alvin & I have been savoring these last few days as a family of 3 (including Coley) but anxious to become a family of 4. We can't wait for our munchkin to arrive!
We have another exciting weekend ahead of us - an all day "Understanding Childbirth" class coming up on Saturday! I'm so excited!
