Great Expectations!

Check out Camille admiring her accomplishments!!!! Alvin & I are overjoyed to say that we are expanding our family by 1 more precious little girl. We started discussing soon after Camille was born when we were going to “try” again. Gosh, I was so overwhelmed with new mommyhood – I couldn't even dream of when that time would come. Well, God’s timing is always the PERFECT timing.  What’s really amazing is right before I found out, Camille and I flew to Missouri to visit my brother and his family and she kept pointing at my stomach on the plane saying “baybee, baybee, baybee” I told her NO – mommy is just fat:-) I guess she knew before we did!  I was extremely diligent about keeping up with the progress of my pregnancy with Camille and posting weekly. Well – I can go ahead and confirm now that that will likely not happen, but I will try to provide some updates on at least a bi-weekly basis:-)  A Few Noteworthy Facts:-) Due Date: 05.10.15 How Far Along: 15 1/2 Week

Heaven Couldn’t Wait For You - Martha R. Smith

I recently attended Beyonce’s OTR Tour and afterwards (because I loved the show so much), I decided to go ahead – take the plunge and buy the album. I was running last Wednesday with BGR! and decided to shuffle the entire CD and this song came on that just about took me over: “Heaven.” It reminded me so much of Martha and how timely as we are approaching the 2 year anniversary of your untimely passing. The lyrics to that song hit me like a ton of bricks as they were so real. I could listen to the hook over and over again and all I could see was your face. But heaven couldn't wait for you No heaven couldn't wait for you Heaven couldn't wait for you No heaven couldn't wait for you So go on, go home   I actually ran my best time yet with BGR! (you’d be proud) because I was running so fast trying to fight back the tears. You were an absolute angel on Earth. Girl I miss you something terrible!  There are so many things that I would love to talk to you about. M

Write the Vision....Make it Plain!

In the last 2 weeks since I wrote - I've actually knocked out a few items from my Year 36 Goals list. It's something about writing things down that seals them and makes them more real. Also, writing my goals down in my public blog - makes me want to adhere to them even more. Here's a Year 36 Goals Update: Exercise - In the last 2 weeks, I've worked out a total of 10 times! 5 times each week! I ran with Black Girls Run! a total of 3 times in the last 2 weeks. I actually ran over 4 miles on Saturday 8/16 which was the most I have run in a long time. I even dusted off my T25 DVDs and did a couple of workouts. I have to watch myself with T25 because after completing the series - my knees were in very bad shape. That's a whole other story.....I'm still wearing my fitbit, I exceeded my 10K steps per day goal during the week of 8/4 2 times and during the week of 8/11 a total of 3 times. My goal is to walk at least 10K steps 4 times a week - so I'v

A day in the life.....Camille Reese Jones

Most of my blogs start off with “It’s been a while” – I am starting to see a trend here – LOL. It’s been increasingly difficult to carve out time to write but I’m writing now:-)  So, where do I start…..CAMILLE! She’s the beat to my heart and apple of my eye. Omigod, I just love her to pieces.   Here’s what she’s been up to: Sleeping – Well, we had a really good system down where we start our bathtime routine around 7:30, followed by a story, and then we’d rock her to sleep. She was in her crib by 8:00! Here lately – that whole schedule has been turned UPSIDE DOWN. It takes her forever to fall asleep and yeah we’re still rocking her to sleep. Then she wakes up around midnight or 1 am screaming bloody murder and then she ends up in our bed. She sleeps so bad that I always wake up with a toddler size 5 foot in my mouth. It’s an adjustment. We get no sleep, but she sleeps very peacefully.  Eating – She LOVES to snack. She gets that honestly because her dad and I are big
